- Most people use data cards inside their home or office. Often coverage can be weak or poor in these environments so connecting an external antenna makes a massive improvement.
- Data rate speed on both the upload and download is dependent on your coverage. Not many people have a cell site in their back yard or street, so unless you live right under a cell site you won't achieve maximum data speeds. So by installing for example a Yagi antenna on your roof you can achieve radio path line of sight (los) connectivity to the cell site and obtain data speeds as if you are right next door to the cell site.
- Unlike a mobile phone you don't have to hold the data card in your hand when you are using it so it is really easy to connect an external antenna to your data card and leave it there for the duration of your connection or until you move your computer.
- Radio waves are
removed from the device and connected outside to your external antenna.
